The BigStep is the non-plus-ultra among tampers and it is not for nothing that it has won countless titles in barista and latte art championships.
With a diameter of 58.55 mm and extremely low tolerances of +/- 0.02 mm, the Big-Step fits exactly into the precision sieves specially made for the Pullman system and thus avoids any channeling from the outset. The result is an extremely even puck that is optimally compressed even at the edges of the screen.
Extremely high-quality 440C stainless steel for freedom from wear and the best material properties.
Patented 'Step' ensures that, despite the extreme fit of the tamper base to the sieve, no vacuum is created when lifting after tamping.
Danger:
Pullman cannot control the wide range of different inside diameters across many brands and weight ratings of precision screens.
Therefore, we cannot guarantee that the BigStep is compatible with screens from third-party manufacturers.
We therefore strongly recommend purchasing Pullman Filtration Baskets. These are perfectly adapted to the BigStep base and checked by hand.
Pullman Barista handle - ACETAL Black - suitable for all Pullman tamper bases from the BigStep and Barista Original lines
Acetal is an elastic, impact-resistant and break-resistant material. Due to its outstanding material properties, it is used as a knock insert in our powder-coated barista handles.
A full acetal handle makes it particularly suitable for baristas who knock the portafilter with the side of the handle rather than the top.
The surface has been hand bead blasted to create a semi-soft tactile feel with a visually similar effect to the rubber in the base.
Acetal is warm to the touch and lighter than aluminum . It offers the tactile benefits of hardwood (warm to the touch) combined with the strength and durability of aluminum.
These properties make it the ideal tool for tough everyday coffee bar life.
The handle can be easily cleaned with water.
Spacer - Spacer for individually adjusting Barista and BigStep tampers to the anatomy of the hand.
Color ALU: the 5mm spacer is installed, the versions in 2mm and 8mm are included for possible subsequent adjustment.
