Our Kampar comes from North Sumatra, Indonesia and is, as the name suggests, a real Indonesian surprise. It shows that, apart from the well-known Canephora tradition (Robusta), really good, high-quality Arabicas are produced in Indonesia. Naturally hand-picked, honey-processed using a complex manual-rubbing-with-sand process, the Kampar is a great example of the diversity of Indonesian coffee cultivation and the over 300-year-old coffee tradition on the Southeast Asian island.
The preparation as honey gives the Kampar a beautiful, distinctive sweetness that is reminiscent of forest honey and is accompanied by mango-apple aromas. The cocoa, which is clearly noticeable in the finish, ideally complements the floral components of the Kampar, and the long-lasting finish underlines the complexity and quality of this great coffee.
